What I love about these brownies is that they are SO easy to make. I also love that they are naturally gluten-free, paleo, and vegan! And, free of refined sugars. They’re dense and fudgy, and make a great base if you want to add other elements like chocolate chips or a topping of chopped nuts. They’re not the prettiest brownies, but they’re a great pick-me-up and are perfect for on-the-go.
Six overripe bananas
1 cup smooth nut butter (I used peanut butter, but any nut butter will do)
4T- 1/2 cup cocoa powder (use more for a richer taste)
Preheat the oven the 350 degrees, grease an 8×8 pan and set aside
Melt the nut butter on the stovetop or in a microwave-safe bowl – My small 900 watt microwave takes 30 seconds
Mash bananas in a small mixing bowl, or use a food processor if you don’t want banana chunks in your brownies.
Add in melted nut butter and cocoa powder, and mix very well.
Pour mixture into greased pan and bake for about 30 minutes or until cooked through.
Let cool completely before slicing into pieces
For best texture, try them refrigerated!
I really love this recipe. There is very little prep and clean up, and the end result is a pan of delicious, healthy brownies. Have you tried this recipe? Let me know what you thought!
